UNILUX TO INTRODUCE TWO LED STROBES AT DRUPA

Lightweight stroboscopes deliver brighter light, more even coverage, enhanced ability to inspect UV-visible inks.

Düsseldorf, Germany 29 March 2016 - Unilux, the world leader in the design and manufacture of inspection lighting, will introduce two LED strobes at DRUPA 2016, Hall 12 / Stand B44. The new LED-3 and LED-9 stroboscopes provide 2x brighter output than earlier LED-based inspection lights and give inspectors a more defined coverage area. UV models enhance the ability to see special security codes or coatings that are only visible in the narrow UV light spectrum. LED technology significantly reduces maintenance over xenon-based inspection lights and eliminates inspection-system downtime caused by burned-out lamps.

The new strobes can be configured for flood or spotlighting patterns and are available in handheld or fixed-mount configurations. They can reduce energy consumption by two-thirds and gain all the environmental and reduced-maintenance benefits that come with LED technology. Handheld models feature a new ergonomic design to better suit the operator and high quality, all-metal construction. New Lithium-Ion batteries provide more power at 1/3 the weight and 4x the longevity. Fixed-mount models feature remote operation and trigger inputs for instant synchronization to movement. Multiple strobes can be connected across a machine to synchronize frequency in various locations or allow simultaneous use of UV and standard inspection lights

“The successful combination of compact design and bright illumination makes these new strobes highly versatile,” said Volker Schlevoigt, managing director, Unilux Europe GmbH. ”They enable operators to optimize the inspection of print and coating quality, perform maintenance functions and do so much more Plus, the brighter light - especially for UV units - in a smaller, lighter-weight design, lets operators perform these functions wherever it’s most efficient for their operations.

”The biggest advantage of the new LED-3 and LED-9 strobes is the ability to inspect ‘UV-visible inks’ under standard lighting conditions,” Schlevoigt said. “This eliminates the need for inspection boxes or other measures to overcome ambient light. New UV LEDs can emit full lighting power, making them 10 times brighter than the old comparable xenon lights that required light-blocking filters. And because LED strobe lights eliminate the hot spots found in xenon lights, inspectors get a much more uniform view across the web.”
